The course will teach students to recognise triggers of stress and learn coping mechanisms and ways to reduce their stress levels. There will be introductions to different holistic therapies, and the chance to create/colour a mandala to use for home visualisation and a mood/visualisation board to help raise self-esteem. There will be the opportunity to try different relaxation skills and we will also look at how to boost confidence and raise self-esteem.

A fun Exercise and Dance class, using various styles of dance to improve your ability to relax. You will improve your fitness levels both mentally and physically and learn exercises that can help improve your daily life and exercises can be performed at home.

This course will enable students to identify those transferable skills most sought by employers and to complete a personal skills audit. Students will be able to improve on a range of such skills, including formal langage for written and verbal communication, writing and following instructions, completing reports and communicating with customers and colleagues

Essential Oils View details

Essential oils have been used throughout history in many cultures for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits. More modern holistic approaches to wellness have brought about a revival of essential oils for physical and emotional health and well-being applications. Initially, you will be introduced the principles of 'Nature's Medicine Cabinet' using 10 core essential oils. Following research and discussion, you will address how the oils can be used for areas such as: relaxation and sleep, stress relief, concentration, immune system support, emotional balance, skin care, respiratory health, green cleaning, and even muscle tension and pain. You will have the opportunity to blend your own rollerballs. Make some 'green' cleaning products. Learn simple application techniques and discuss oils to support the emotions. An interesting class for anyone interested in learning about the basics of pure essential oils.

This session is a taster for the 6 week course, during this session you will learn about mindfulness and find out more about the course; An Introduction to mindfulness & meditation Over the six week programme you will try out a variety of meditation practices including seated meditations, lying meditations, light mindful movement, body scans and vibrational meditation using Tibetan singing bowls. Mindfulness is known to reduce stress and anxiety and help us to build our resilience. With practice it improves our relationship with ourselves and with others. You will learn how to turn off your “doing mind” and turn on your “being mind” you will discover where this ancient practice came from and how we can use it in our modern busy lives to find peace and happiness. Our sessions are relaxed and informal, with plenty of time for discussion and reflections.
