This course is for students who need to brush up their English before looking for work. . Do I need any particular skills or experience? This course is for a group of around 15 students studying in a live video-learning platform conference and an online digital learning environment platform from the comfort of their own home: 1) You will need your own personal email address so that you’re able to login to the WEA’s digital learning platform: WEA Canvas. 2)You will need to be able to understand how to follow URL links to pages on the internet. Course aim

To develop students' ESOL skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing whilst also preparing students for employment

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for improvers
  • Before you can join this course you will need to talk to a member of staff and do an initial assessment to make sure the course is right for you. Please call the Student Support Team on 0300 303 3464
  • BNO students only

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Take part in formal and informal discussions using a variety of tenses
  • Use a variety of reading strategies to help read and understand an increasing range of unfamiliar words
  • Write with relative clauses to produce complex sentences
  • Create a C.V. and write a letter enquiring about work
  • Discuss work experience
