Course aim

To engage with students who lack confidence in their literacy skills. To enhance creative and imaginative writing. To promote Health and Wellbeing and the benefits of mentoring.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Continue to develop online learning and technology to encourage further learning. A support group to help prevent feelings of isolation.
  • Develop story and plot.
  • Create characters from monologue into dialogue
  • Complete a piece of writing with a beginning, middle and end.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the benefits of mentoring. Give a ten minute presentation to the group on a topic of your choice.

What you need: You will need an internet connection for Zoom and Canvas. You could do this using a smart phone, tablet, laptop or a desktop computer (at home or through a library etc.).You will need a personal email address to join the WEA’s digital learning platform, for Canvas and Zoom.
