Creative Writing Workshop (Frodsham Class online)

Ref: C3847041

The course takes the form of a Tutor-led Writers Workshop. The first two thirds of each session consists of learners reading their previous week's Homework piece followed by constructive and supportive Feedback from the group, followed then by a short in-class exercise which leads directly into that week's Homework. The Homework set is in the main a Short Story of some sort.

Course aim

A friendly and supportive Writing Workshop where learners are able to receive feedback each week on the previous week's Homework writing assignment.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Identify better the demands and conventions of a Short Story.
  • Re-Write on the basis of Feedback.
  • Write a short-story to a prescribed topic.
  • Evaluate and exploit the possibilities of the Short Story form.

How will I be taught?

What kind of feedback can I expect?

What else do I need to know?

Established for some years now , the group prides itself on welcoming new Learners and on offering a genuinely supportive environment in which to improve writing skills. Poetry and Scripts are also sometimes undertaken as assignments.
