This course is an opportunity to explore psychological first aid (PFA); training to help people with different needs cope with the emotional impact of an emergency or crisis situation. You’ll learn how to distinguish between signs of distress and mental health impacts. You'll reflect on the PFA stages to supporting people: Prepare, Look, Listen, Link.

  • Describe how emergencies impact mental health

  • Identify PFA techniques to support yourself and your family
  • Create an Individual Action Plan to engage with PFA
