Join the Tenterden branch for this informal survey of Surrealism, taking in its roots in WWI and the Dadaists, the lives and works of its most famous members, and its legacy. Figures we will look at include Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, Max Ernst, Leonora Carrington and Joan Miro.

An introduction to Surrealist painting with a view to increasing your enjoyment and appreciation of this popular art movement.

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Take part in discussions about the art works and respond appropriately to others.
- Describe 2 events or factors that may have influenced the artist.
- Look at a range of information to help understand and explain the artworks.
- Describe how and why artists use line, space, colour, form and texture.
