This course gives students at all levels - from beginners to the more experienced - the opportunity to explore different painting approaches, techniques and subjects and begin to find their own style. Our highly experienced tutor, who is a practicing artist, provides practical and supportive advice on colour mixing, composition and tonal variation, encouraging students to explore their own personal enthusiasms to make individual and highly original paintings. Source materials such as photographs and objects will be provided but students are actively encouraged to suggest and bring in their own source materials.
Course aim

Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for beginners and improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Experiment confidently with colour mixing.
- Experiment confidently with light and shade.
- Experiment confidently with composition and different subjects.
- Complete a personal painting project using the skills learned above.
What else do I need to know?
Please bring: HB and 2B pencil, eraser, sharpener, A3 cartridge pad. Basic acrylic paints (warm red, rose red, warm yellow, ultramarine, cerulean blue, burnt umber, white, black) palette, brushes.
