WW11 to the Falklands

Ref: C3746914

This history course will explore and evaluate how we moved from the 'austerity' Britain of 1945 to the situation at the start of the Falklands war. Using contemporary documents and film clips we will examine the loss of empire and transformation of Britain to a multicultural society. We will also examine the relationship of Britain with the rest of Europe and the world, and explore how the social fabric at home changed, examining the move from widespread censorship of books and theatres to the 'permissive society', and the social reforms of the 1960s.

Course aim

This history course will look at post war history from the end of the second world war to the Falklands War, with a view to exploring and evaluating the world we live in today.
