Metamorphoses from Ovid to Carter

Ref: C3746776

This six week course looks at the idea of transformations in literature starting with two Roman texts: extracts from Ovid’s Metamorphoses and Apuleius’s The Golden Ass, then moving on to Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. We will then move on to the 19th century to study Lamia by Keats, and the 20th century with Kafka’s The Metamorphosis and Nights at the Circus by Angela Carter. Where possible links to texts will be provided on Canvas.
