This friendly and supportive course will help you to explore what is meant by personal confidence and how we achieve it with effective communication and improved capacity to handle difficult situations. It will help you identify confident behaviours and what helps us feel confident and looks at the key elements of effective and non effective communication, whilst exploring assertiveness in handling difficult situations. It also explores confidence in effective stress and time management and looks at tools and techniques to better manage your time and ways to reduce your stress whilst improving your capacity to overcome any potential barriers to improved confidence.

Course aim

This course will help you recognise how becoming more confident can change your thought processes. You will gain insight into effective and non effective communication. You will plan your own personal approach and plan for the future.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • To identify what confidence is
  • To identify any potential barriers to improved confidence.
  • To know the differences between assertive, passive and aggressive behaviours and how to handle each behaviour.
  • To identify factors in effective time and stress management, any potential barriers and how to overcome.
  • identify key factors in effective and non effective communication and how its impacts our confidence.

Building your Confidence

Enrolment Conditions

As a registered charity, and to meet our funders’ requirements, we need to check a few things with you before you enrol. Please check the details below to ensure you meet the basic eligibility critiera:

  • You are paying the standard fee (with a credit or debit card) or you are on any of the qualifying benefits
  • You have a valid email address so that you can receive confirmation of your booking
  • You have been resident in the UK, EU or EEA for the last 3 years
  • You are aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2021
  • You declare that the address you provide is correct and that you will provide evidence of this and your eligibility to live and work in the UK
  • You have read and accept our standard terms and conditions
