Ref: C3680363

This is an ongoing course. It is aimed at people who have already studied Italian for at least one year and have a basic knowledge of the Italian language, but keen to develop it further. The course will focus on oral, listening and speaking skills, but also reading and writing, so that the student will be able to communicate effectively. Being focused on communicative skills, an active participation during the classes will be encouraged. Each term will cover a different topic designed to broaden the learner's understanding of Italian society, culture and lifestyle.

Course aim

This is an ongoing course. Working in a friendly and supportive atmosphere you will develop your language skills, will improve your confidence and your ability to communicate in and understand the Italian language.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • Being an ongoing course, it is not for total beginners. The presente and passato prossimo, pronouns, articles and other grammar contents have been already covered. If you want to check if this course is suitable for you ask the WEA to put you in contact with the tutor.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • talk about my memories
  • talk about habits in the past
  • describe a place
  • demonstrate an understanding of simple written material in Italian
  • demonstrate an understanding of simple spoken material in Italian

How will I be taught?

What kind of feedback can I expect?

What else do I need to know?

You will need a personal email address to join the WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas so that you can receive resources, record your progress and achievement and to work with others and share ideas.
