This course is suitable for learners who have some experience in using a computer/laptop/tablet. We will be learning about using advanced features in Zoom, using Canvas, formatting using Microsoft Word and adding attachments to emails. This is a free non-accredited course and a practical and flexible way of improving your digial skills in a friendly and welcoming environment.

Course aim

The aim of the course is to further build confidence and skills in using digital technology.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Join a zoom session and demonstrate using the poll feature, interactive whiteboard and asking for help in a breakout room
  • Access the different features in Canvas to complete surveys, quizzes, assignments and using email within Canvas.
  • Send and receive emails.
  • Reply and add attachments to emails
  • Demonstrate changing font, size, bold, underline, alignment, bullet points in Microsoft Word.

You will need a personal email address to join WEA's digital learning platform, Canvas, so that you can receive resources, record your progress and achievement, to work with others and share ideas.

Enrolment Conditions

This course is funded by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and only applicable postcode areas are permitted to enrol.

  • You are paying the standard fee (with a credit or debit card) or you are on any of the qualifying benefits
  • You have a valid email address so that you can receive confirmation of your booking
  • You have been resident in the UK, EU or EEA for the last 3 years
  • You are aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2021
  • You declare that the address you provide is correct and that you will provide evidence of this and your eligibility to live and work in the UK
  • You have read and accept our standard terms and conditions
