Henna Flow- next steps in henna

Students will learn a variety of traditional henna patterns and how to combine them to create unique and intricate 'temporary tattoos'. They will practice the designs on paper and also learn how to apply them to different parts of the body, such as hands, arms, fingers. Learners will find out about safe and unsafe types of henna. Henna art (also known as mehndi) has been used for centuries at weddings and other celebrations.

Course aim

Learn how to create a range of traditional and modern henna designs using a variety of motifs. Students will also learn to make henna cones and mix henna paste.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • create a party henna design using a range of motifs
  • make a henna cone
  • mix henna paste
  • apply your designs to skin and to paper
  • track progress and achievement throughout the course in your own course file and on Canvas, the WEA online learning platform
