Creative Pattern Cutting for Beginners - Draping on the Stand

Ref: C3680287

You can get creative with a variety of fabrics and you will explore various draping and fabric manipulation techniques. You will fit a bodice and skirt to the stand and take a pattern from it, you will need a sewing machine. You will create a jacket design where the lines have to chevron into each other, a draped design using the bias grain, and a variety of designs exploring foil, paper, and bin bags! With these designs exploration of line, texture, shape, and volume will come naturally and you will gain some valuable knowledge of how fabrics are structured and how they behave on the stand. You will need to provide your own materials; - Roll of Bin bags - this is for the first session - Roll of Kitchen Foil - 1.5 m Mediumweight cotton (non-stretch) - 5 meters of paper (this is not for the first session so we can discuss requirements) - 1.5 m lightweight draping fabric such as crepe or georgette - 1.5 m medium or heavyweight striped fabric (non-stretch)
