Welcome to the Relaxation For Well Being Course. You will learn tense/ release exercises and gentle stretches to ease tension. You will also learn to focus on your breathing helping you to feel calm. You will follow guided relaxations which will help you to deeply relax and also feel refreshed. This course will help you to learn how to really make time for yourself - providing you with tools to ease stress and tension.

Course aim

This course aims to help participants to relax by engaging in a range of techniques : simple tense/release exercises and gentle stretches to ease muscular tension, a range of calming breathing techniques and guided systematic relaxation.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Practise simple tense/release exercises - helping to release tension and also become more aware of your body.
  • Practise gentle stretches/ movements that focus on easing muscular tension.
  • Demonstrate how to focus on your breathing - helping you to feel calm.
  • Link your breathing with relaxing movements - helping you to feel calm.
  • Follow a guided relaxation - learning to relax at a deep level.

What else do I need to know?

You will need to bring a mat to the venue - which will be provided if you don't already have one. I encourage everyone to wear comfortable, warm clothing and also bring a blanket if you can for the deep relaxation.
