Watercolour painting provides you with the perfect opportunity to relax and lose yourself, at a time of uncertainty in our lives. These sessions aim to be stress free, providing step by step tuition. However, there will also be opportunities to explore more independently, as well as introducing some mixed media to your work. This course is for those starting their watercolour journey but will also apply to those wanting to improve their work.
Course aim
This course will provide you with a brief introduction to techniques of watercolour painting, with a view to applying them to your own portfolio.

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- 1. Explore a range of basic watercolour painting equipment and understand their purpose.
- 2. Demonstrate knowledge of line, shape proportions, composition, and tone.
- 3. Expand on different watercolour techniques like washes, glazes, wet on wet and wet on dry.
- 4. Demonstrate a basic understanding of colour theory and apply this to your portfolio work.
- 5. Analyse other artists work through discussions and influencing your own work.
What else do I need to know?
Basic watercolour paints and a set of brushes and watercolour paper will be needed.
