History: On Ilkley Moor Baht 'at - Yorkshire Towns Through the Ages

Ref: C3680196

Yorkshire is a very large county with a history going back to Roman times. We will look at Yorkshire towns throughout the ages from Viking York to the medieval market towns such as Ripon, Thirsk and Northallerton, spa towns such as Harrogate, Georgian Richmond, the development of seaside towns such as Scarborough, World War One bombardments and Prisoner of War Camps in the Second World War, stretching up to modern day developments. Class members will be encouraged to find out about their own town or village.

Course aim

To look at the diverse history of a number of Yorkshire towns over time from the Viking era through to the Second World War and present day. Class members will be encouraged to see what they can find out about their own town or village.
