This course is aimed at people who want to learn the basics of the Italian language in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. The course will focus on oral, listening and speaking skills, but also on reading and writing, so that the student will be able to communicate effectively. Being focused on communicative skills, active participation during the classes will be encouraged. Each term will cover a different topic designed to broaden the learner's understanding of Italian society, culture and lifestyle. Course aim

An introduction to the Italian language and culture in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. You will learn the language and discover the fascinating world of Italy and its culture and will be ready to simply communicate in different contexts

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Order and pay compliments (or complain!) in a restaurant
  • Buy food and other essential things in a shop in Italy, expressing my desires and my preferences
  • Buy a ticket and ask for information about the journey
  • Have a conversation in different contexts using the present tense
  • Demonstrate an understanding of a simple informational text about cities
