Make a positive start to the New Year and enjoy the benefits of a Guided Deep Relaxation in the comfort of your own home with this Online Relaxation Course. This course will help you to relieve stress and tension, help you to truly relax, promote good sleep and replenish your energy levels. We will focus on breathing practices to help calm the mind, simple movements to ease tension in the body and prepare you for a guided, systematic relaxation of the whole body. We will enhance our relaxation practice with positive affirmations that uplift our mood. This course is suitable for everyone - learn how to truly make time to care for yourself - one whole hour just for you!

Course aim

This course aims to help participants to deeply relax by following a variety of Guided Deep Relaxations. Students will learn to prepare the mind/ body for deep relaxation using breathing techniques and gentle exercises that ease physical tension.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Develop awareness of breathing in relation to the body - experiencing the breath releasing the body.
  • Practice gentle movements that alleviate tension in the body, recognising that this helps to prepare for deep relaxation practice.
  • Improve your ability to deeply relax by following different styles of Yoga Nidra - exploring different relaxing pathways around the body.
  • Create a personal relaxation journal by following extra relaxation practices in Canvas and reflecting on your experience and progress.
  • Benefit from listening to positive affirmations and inspiring quotes/poems that relate to our practice of relaxation and meditation.

Please wear comfortable clothing. You will need something supportive to lie on - a yoga mat or thick rug/blanket, cushions. You may wish to sit in a chair for some seated practices if you feel uncomfortable sitting on the floor.
