The taster day introduces the main concepts of evolutionary psychology as applied to the Human species. Behaviours which are often considered defining factors of us as people will be briefly discussed; these will include language, sharing, gossiping and marriage. At the end of the session, learners will have a greater knowledge of the processes which have acted upon humans and made us into one of the most successful species on Earth.

Course aim

Introduction to Human Evolutionary Psychology aims to briefly summarise the process of evolution as applied to Human behaviours such as language, marriage, sharing and gossip.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Increased understanding of the process of evolution.
  • Greater knowledge on how Evolutionary Psychology can be applied to Human Behaviour.
  • Greater knowledge of the evolution of specific behaviours in Humans including sharing, marriage, language and gossip.
