Looking at a selection of well-known female artists, both living and dead, the course aims to celebrate strong, independent and unique women artists whose practices explored what it meant to them to be women. We will look at their biographies and examine where possible influences filtered into their practices. Artists include; Vanessa Bell, Frida Kahlo, Louise Bourgeois and Tracy Emin

This course aims to celebrate notable women artists, both past and present, by providing a brief introduction to their practice and what has made their voice so unique and powerful.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for beginners and improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- List four well known female artists and what makes their work interesting
- Describe at least one artwork from said four well known female artists
- Recite three new art terms that helps to describe contemporary fine art
What else do I need to know?
This course will be online and you do not need to bring anything other than your interest or a pen and paper if you wish to take notes
