Outdoor learning: Creative Outdoor Projects

This practical course will use creative projects in the outdoor environment. Tasks will include creating things with a variety of natural and man-made resources. This might include: natural wood; recycled wood; clay; wool etc. You will get you outdoors and learn new skills with hands-on support and teaching. It will include elements of fun activities like Bushcraft, Woodwork, and other creative projects. This is a very practical course, that involves mostly getting 'stuck in' to the task of the day. You will: Meet new people; Enjoy being outside; Learn how to use some hand tools; Increase your fitness levels. This course welcomes everyone from our local community and help and support will be provided throughout the course.

Course aim

This practical course aims to teach a variety of practical skills in the outdoor environment.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Understand how to correctly use at least one hand tool.
  • Apply practical skills to help manage my mental health.
  • Identify & name 2 natural resources that can be used for a creative project.
  • Feel confidence in my ability to achieve given tasks.

You will need sturdy footwear and appropriate outdoor clothes for all weathers. If you are attending our morning course (Outdoor learning: Steps to Wellbeing in the Outdoors C3533338), please bring a pack lunch. Water is provided, you may wish to bring a flask of hot drink too and your own water.
