Hannah Arendt: A thinker for Dark Times with Kevin Walker

Ref: C3533150

Hannah Arendt has been described as ‘a Thinker for Dark Times’, this is because however difficult things may appear her message is essentially one of hope. We will explore what it means to be human; the origins of totalitarianism; the nature of evil; revolutions; power and violence. We will discuss the meaning of politics and the role of political action and will practise what Arendt described as thinking and judgement. This course is an opportunity to think about and discuss the future of our common world. This is an introductory level course and everyone is welcome. There will be extensive follow up materials for those who wish to explore further and opportunities to continue discussions online between sessions.
