Developing your Printmaking - Morning Session

Ref: C3533045

Developing your Printmaking offers students the space and time to develop their printing skills using techniques that do not need a printing press. Students will have some printing knowledge and may have attended a previous printmaking course. We will work on self-directed but supported projects so that each student makes a body of print work that reflects the themes and techniques that interest them. Students will need to have a workspace and a basic printing kit, this will be published in Canvas before the course starts.

Course aim

Developing your Printmaking is a course designed for students who wish to continue their printmaking journey and build a body of work that explores a self-directed theme with tutor support.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Understand and use a range of techniques for home printmaking.
  • Make a set of prints that reflects a growing awareness of the themes and techniques that inspire me.
  • Troubleshoot any print issues so that consistent results are achieved.
  • Make a small edition of consistent prints.
  • Annotate my work so that I can explain the processes I have used and the themes I have developed.

How will I be taught?

What kind of feedback can I expect?

What else do I need to know?

Students will need to have a work space and a basic printing kit. This will be published in Canvas before the course starts. We will expand upon the kit list as the course progresses.
