Have you tried different types of diets to help you lose weight, and then it just gets put back on? Or are you thinking about health and want to change your eating patterns to improve your outlook? Have you discovered that willpower just does not last, and now you are fed up with all this Yo-Yo dieting? Forget fancy and costly diet plans. Forget drastic and sudden weight loss. Forget the up and down health rollercoaster. This course will look at some of the key elements in the science behind weight loss, and will discuss the importance of mindset and food behaviour. Taking several guided steps to improve your knowledge and confidence with food, therefore empowering you to invest in a healthy life plan that you can be in control of.

Course aim

This course shows a foundation plan to establish a healthy lifestyle, that is realistic and can be adapted to individual circumstances. We will cover some basic nutrition science as well as looking at how behaviour affects our chances of succeeding.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Understand some basic principles of a healthy lifestyle
  • Identify a link between carbohydrates and blood sugar
  • Demonstrate a potential benefit and drawback of dietary fats
  • Apply some dietary knowledge to my personal circumstances
