Improve Your English With Sewing

.The aim of this course is to support learners to improve English skills through learning how to sew basic garments and samples of seams and hems . Students will develop their English skills through participating in activities, group work and group discussions. Students will develop Maths and ICT skills, through taking body measurements, cutting patterns and using mobile devices to upload work. During the course students will use a sewing machine to make garments, create samples of hems and other items.

Course aim

The aim of this course is to support students to improve English skills through sewing. They will be produce samples of French seams and hems . Also will be developing their English skills through reading pattern instructions.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Read hand outs in English to follow instructions
  • Read a simple pattern in English
  • Login to canvas and upload work
  • Take a body measurement and record in English
  • learn 10 + new words related to sewing, number or digital skills
