First Steps in ESOL 2

Before you can join this course, you will need to talk to a member of staff and do an initial assessment to make sure the course is right for you. For more information and to book an appointment please call 0300 303 3464. In this ESOL class we will expand on talking about our everyday lives. You will learn how to say dates and times. You will expand on the basic questions you can ask and answer for personal information. You will learn more new words and continue to develop your reading and skills.

Course aim

This ESOL course is for improvers. It will help you to further develop the basic English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills learnt in 1st Steps1.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Use different greetings and replies and different farewells
  • Recognise, say and write numbers 1-20 in numbers and words
  • Recognise, say and write days of the week
  • Ask and reply to further common personal information questions
  • Recognise common signs and symbols

Conditions

This course is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority and only applicable postcode areas are permitted to enrol.

  • You are paying the standard fee (with a credit or debit card) or you are on any of the qualifying benefits
  • You have a valid email address so that you can receive confirmation of your booking
  • You have been resident in the UK, EU or EEA for the last 3 years
  • You are aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2021
  • You declare that the address you provide is correct and that you will provide evidence of this and your eligibility to live and work in the UK
  • You have read and accept our standard terms and conditions
