To develop reading skills such as scanning, skimming, paraphrasing, summarising, and identifying a range of text types. To respond to questions about gist in complete sentences. To develop understanding and vocabulary of a range of familiar and non-familiar topics. To use own words to explain meanings of new vocabulary at Entry Level 2.

Course aim

To develop reading skills such as scanning, skimming, paraphrasing, summarising, and responding to questions in complete sentences. To identify text types and develop a range of vocabulary of topics at Entry Level 2.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers
  • To have digital skills to join Zoom online. To have own email address to join canvas online platform.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • To scan information and respond to questions in complete sentences.
  • To skim information and respond to questions using complete sentences.
  • To read and summarise information in own words with grammatical accuracy.
  • To log into the canvas and complete a quiz about skills assessment.
  • To identify types of texts .

Bring pen and paper. Keep a folder of work completed. To have own email address and join canvas, online platform. To have basic digital skills to join online via zoom.
