Do you have a special occasion coming up? - a wedding, christening, new baby, anniversary or simply a special birthday, then this course is for you. An introductory course in creating themed greeting cards, each week looking at a specific occasion or theme chosen by the group with the card designed and created around the theme. You could be new to card making and aiming to learn some new skills or you might be a seasoned papercrafter who wants to share their experience and build on their existing skills, either way this friendly and supportive group is looking forward to meeting you for a 6 week, fun filled, relaxing trip into crafting.

Course aim

An introduction to themed greeting cards - each week we will look at a specific occasion and design and create cards around that theme.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Identify similarities in the look of cards within a theme.
  • Recognise and describe the importance of colour choices in themed card design.
  • Identify 3 ways to embellish and enhance your projects.
  • Creat a selection of cards (minimum of 3) for specific occasions.
  • Access Zoom and Canvas course materials for this course.

What else do I need to know?

You will need a selection of greeting card blanks or sheets of A4 card you can cut down to size. A selection of patterned paper pads. Glue, pencil, eraser, scissors, ruler, embellishments such as flat backed gems, ribbon, stickers and anything else you can think of to decorate your card fronts.
