Using examples by artists working in Italy and Northern Europe in the period 1470-1570, the course will include close-views of work by Leonardo da Vinci, Bellini and Titian, Raphael, Dürer, Bruegel the Elder and Bosch, Holbein the Younger and Michelangelo. The course will suit those taking an interest in Renaissance paintings for the first time and also provide the opportunity to close-view selected paintings for those wishing to refine and develop their understanding and viewing skills. A detailed calendar indicating topics and close-views for each session is provided at the start of the course.
