Cooking with Local Surplus Food

Ref: C2527690

Learners will be able to reduce carbon footprint by saving and cooking surplus local food. In order to be more sustainable, many supermarkets and local shops would reduce the price of food which is approaching their use-by date or have offers on surplus food which can be made into delicious meals or frozen for a later use. On this course, learners will be able to learn exciting recipes and learn creative ideas to use surplus food which would otherwise go to waste! Find out about smart phone apps that would help you find surplus food in your area.

Course aim

Learners will be able to promote sustainability by changing attitudes to food and society’s impact on the environment by cooking with surplus ingredients. Learners will be able to use perfectly good food which would actually go to waste.
