Digital Skills for Beginners

This is the course for you if you are starting out using devices and want to know the basics. This course will introduce you to different devices, develop your confidence and start you on your journey in using your digital skills using a range of different applications and to get grips with how these can be used to assist you in doing administrative tasks independently. You will develop essential workplace skills including safe ways to browse the internet, use email and other applications online and help you to grow in confidence.

Course aim

This course will introduce you to use devices like a computer, tablet or mobile phone for simple, personal and work tasks. It will get you ready for the digital world.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Confidently be able to use digital software's
  • Know how to be safe and responsible online and on digital devices
  • Use digital devices to effectively search for information and be able to shop safely.
  • How to connect to available WIFI
  • How to set up an email account

A smart phone, iPad, laptop or tablet. Laptops can be provided at the venue for those that do not have one to use whilst attending the course.

Enrolment Conditions

As a registered charity, and to meet our funders’ requirements, we need to check a few things with you before you enrol. Please check the details below to ensure you meet the basic eligibility critiera:

  • You are paying the standard fee (with a credit or debit card) or you are on any of the qualifying benefits
  • You have a valid email address so that you can receive confirmation of your booking
  • You have been resident in the UK, EU or EEA for the last 3 years
  • You are aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2021
  • You declare that the address you provide is correct and that you will provide evidence of this and your eligibility to live and work in the UK
  • You have read and accept our standard terms and conditions
