It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or have previous experience, everyone is welcome! Understand which needle is best for which part of your work, different wools and which ones work best to create 2D and 3D projects. This course is for residents of the North of Tyne Combined Authority - Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland

Course aim

A fun and interactive course where you will learn how to needlefelt with wool fibres. Learn tips and techniques on how to bring the wool together, shape and form it and add details to finish it off.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Identify at least two types of wool and understand its properties for needle felting.
  • Be able to select the correct tools and equipment for needle felting.
  • Learn the basic technique of needle felting to bind wool together and shape it.
  • Understand needle felting techniques to make at least one 3D piece
  • Observe correct Health & Safety procedures throughout.

You will need basic needle felting materials and tools such as needle felting needles, wool and fibres and a needle felting mat. A list will be sent before the course starts. This course is for residents of the North of Tyne Combined Authority - Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland

This course is funded by the North of Tyne Combined Authority but is also open to residents of other areas.
