This course will provide you with an introduction to art journaling, a creative and relaxing pastime. You will learn a different technique every week that you can apply to the pages of your art journal, while exploring your own ideas. In this course you will learn to keep an art journal as a way to connect with your inner creativity without pressure. You will be encouraged to use your journal to express your own ideas and thoughts in a creative and supportive atmosphere, learning lots of different art and journaling techniques.

Course aim

This course will provide you with an introduction to art journaling. You will learn a different technique every week that you can apply to the pages of your art journal, while exploring your own ideas.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Use an art journal to express my own ideas
  • Work with image and text, manipulating and combining them in a variety of ways
  • Extend and make additions to the pages of my art journal
  • Personalise my book cover
  • Use technology (Canvas and Zoom) effectively to help me progress, access resources and upload my work.

- It would be very useful to have access to a printer - You will need a good quality A5 sketchbook, gesso and some other, basic art & craft materials. Alist will be provided on Canvas.
