Art Journaling for Calm Creativity - Next Steps

Ref: C2527612

In this course you will learn to develop your use of an art journal as a way to connect with your inner creativity in a supportive atmosphere, through guided sessions and modelled exemplars. You will be encouraged to use your journal to express your own interpretation of a theme, learning how to utilise the art process, further developing your use of previous techniques and learning some new ones.

Course aim

This course will provide you with opportunities to extend your art journaling practice, by developing your use of the art process. You will also further develop some of the techniques learned in the beginners' course and learn some new ones.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Use the art process to help me develop an individual response to a theme
  • Research images, texts and other artists to help develop my personal response
  • Use, choose from and be able to combine a wider range of journaling techniques
  • Work independently, with confidence, outside of the sessions to further develop my personal response
  • Use technology (Canvas and Zoom) effectively to help me access resources and upload my work.

How will I be taught?

What kind of feedback can I expect?

What else do I need to know?

- It would be very useful to have access to a printer - You will need a good quality A5 sketchbook, preferably casebound, gesso and other art materials (a comprehensive list will be placed on Canvas)
