Story sacks are a wonderful way to make reading more enjoyable and interactive for both children and adults. You will learn about the things that go into a story sack. You will plan some activities to make these games and props during the following 4 week course.

Course aim

An introduction to story sacks. You will learn about the toys and games that go into a story sack to make reading more enjoyable and interactive for children.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Understand what should be included in the contents of a story sack
  • Agree and decide within your class group 2 props or games to include in the sack.
  • Identify 3 skills which you will use to make the story sack items.
  • Respect and encourage each others' ideas and maintain confidentiality.
  • Understand how to maintain a safe working environment, including Safeguarding and Health & Safety of finished items for children
