This course will explore three different craft techniques. During the course students will receive step by step guidance to learn the basics of crochet, quilting and hand embroidery. Students are welcome to learn all three skills or can choose one of the skill to work with learning on a pace they are comfortable with. Some of the techniques students will learn include; How to hold a crochet hook, creat chains and practice different crochet stitches. What is quilting, how to choose fabrics and how to cut fabrics for quilting and join them into a pattern. How to embellish your projects using hand embroidery stitches.

Course aim

This course with teach you the techniques of quilting, crochet and hand embroidery. You will be assigned a project coordinating all three or your chosen skill.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Demonstrate one of the three craft techniques set out in the course description.
  • Name two different stitches used in all( crochet, quilting,hand embroidery)or in their choice of craft.
  • Access online learning platform Canvas to evaluate and review their learning.
  • Name one online platform they can use to sell crafts and generate income/employment.
  • Improved communication and socialising skills.
