Indian Cookery

Indulge yourself in contemporary Indian cuisine. Throughout the sessions, you will learn how to prepare the ingredients and use cooking equipment safely. You will also learn how to substitute traditional ingredients with healthy alternatives, how to read recipes and interpret them and how to serve various dishes. You may either sit and watch the demonstration or cook along and enjoy eating what you make during the session! Vegan and Vegetarian options are also available.

Course aim

Learners will be able to learn and feel confident in making a wide variety of Indian food. Health benefits of various ingredients will be discussed throughout the sessions. Learners will be able to use healthier options.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Demonstrate how to cook ''Rogan Josh”
  • List the steps of making a ',Aalu Parantha''
  • Explain the meaning of "Achaar"List the ingredients of "Achari Chicken"
  • Summarise the benefits of Lentils.
  • Submit documentation on a digital platform and participate in an online discussion

What you need: - an internet connection, speakers, a microphone and a webcam for Zoom. - a personal email address to join the WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas. - If you wish to cook along, you will need the ingredients
