The aim of this course is to help you to develop a range of vocal and spoken language skills, particularly when in the workplace. The content will support you with adapting language, structuring meetings, and logically sequencing presentations. You will also have the opportunity to practice what you have learned by giving a short presentation.

This course is only for participants engaged on the Smart and Inclusive Leadership Project in the D2N2 area. This project is part-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF).

Course aim

The aim of this course is to help you to develop a range of vocal and spoken language skills, particularly when in the workplace. The course will also cover participating in discussions and giving presentations.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Speak clearly in a way which suits the situation
  • Adapt the level of formality to suit the situation and context
  • Communicate effectively in person; or by using a communication device
  • Present information and ideas in a logical sequence
  • Use strategies to clarify and confirm that others understand what is being said

You will need to have access to zoom as this is an online course. Please also have a notebook and pen to hand as you will be making notes to support your learning.
