This course will provide you with an opportunity where you can learn the art of having great conversation with people. You will be able to learn how to start a conversation, interrupt, ask open and closed questions, keep a conversation going and end a conversation. This course will help you through number of real world exercises to make sessions more easy and relatable to you. In a safe, supportive and interactive environment you will have the opportunity to discover different techniques that can help you feel more comfortable and overcome your fears of approaching others. this course will be delivered via Zoom, providing you with the opportunity to also develop your online communication skills and self assurance.

This course is designed for those who want to improve their daily conversational skills and grow their confidence in connecting people

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Start a new conversation with anyone
  • Develop and keep conversation going
  • Demonstrate the importance of body language in confidence building
  • Identify how to interrupt and end conversations appropriately
  • Use positive thinking to become more confident and resilient.

You will need an internet connection, speakers, a microphone and a webcam so that you can use our video learning platform, Zoom. You will also need a personal email address to join WEA's digital learning platform, Canvas.
