You will have a clearer idea of what you want out of life, be able to set SMART targets and be equipped to set your self an action plan that is workable for you. SMART goal setting is an effective strategy that provides clarity, focus and will give you motivation to achieve. The key aim of the course is to explore how to set SMART objectives that will help develop you and align your goals to your aspirations. You will be able to track and review your progress and evaluate, the SMART method will help challenge you and define parameters to ensure your objectives are attainable within a specific timeframe.

Course aim

Following the completion of the course your goals will be clear, reachable and you will be focussed. SMART is an effective tool in helping you achieve your goals and support you to work towards your career and personal aims.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Be able to set your self at least three goals (long and short term).
  • Be able to define the acronym SMART. Explain in at least two/three sentences the purpose of setting targets and the value to you.
  • Set your self at least three/four SMART targets.
  • Produce an action plan with at least three SMART targets.
  • Explain in at least two/three sentences how two of your SMART targets are aliened to your aspiration (s) personal or professional.
