Getting your garden ready for Spring

If you've always wanted to grow your own food, but need a bit of inspiration to help you this course is for you. We'll be making plans to enable us to be eating things we've grown ourselves over the summer. Whether you have a large or small garden, or no garden at all we'll be sharing tips and ideas to enable you to grow fresh, healthy tasty fruit and vegetables

Course aim

This course aims to show what we can grow in our gardens and help us to plan how to produce more of our own food.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Describe where my food comes from and explain what edible plants are possible to grow in the UK
  • Produce a grow plan to enable me to grow some of my own food
  • identify at least 2 places where to get help and advice to help me grow
  • Explore how to provide the best conditions to ensure a good yield

As the course is online an laptop connected to the internet with zoom is required.

Enrolment Conditions

As a registered charity, and to meet our funders’ requirements, we need to check a few things with you before you enrol. Please check the details below to ensure you meet the basic eligibility critiera:

  • You are paying the standard fee (with a credit or debit card) or you are on any of the qualifying benefits
  • You have a valid email address so that you can receive confirmation of your booking
  • You have been resident in the UK, EU or EEA for the last 3 years
  • You are aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2021
  • You declare that the address you provide is correct and that you will provide evidence of this and your eligibility to live and work in the UK
  • You have read and accept our standard terms and conditions
