Astronomy - Women Astronomers

Ref: C2346645

The course provides an introduction to the contributions that women astronomers have made over the centuries. Women in astronomy is certainly not a modern phenomenon! Some have started out assisting brothers or husbands and gone on to to make their own mark. In more recent times, contributions by females have enabled astronomers to establish, inter al., the scale of the universe and the composition of the stars. We will also see if there are female astronomers of note that hail from where course participants live, Additionally, we will keep an eye on current space stories and what can be seen in the night sky. Come and find out more!
