Introduction to Needle Felting

An interactive course where you will learn how to needlefelt with wool fibres. Learn tips and techniques on how to bring the wool together, shape and form it and add details to finish it off. Understand which needle is best for which part of your work, the different wools and which ones work best for your project. No experience is necessary but you will need basic needle felting materials and tools to complete the piece

Course aim

To provide an introduction to needle felting processes learning how to use the techniques in 2-D and 3-D projects

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Discover how to needlefelt wool to bind together and shape it
  • Produce a sample of a 2-D piece of needle felting
  • Create a sample of 3-D needle felting
  • Demonstrate how to safely use felting needles
  • Describe the difference between different wool types
