Art of Creative Writing; Improve your writing; constructive critique group

Ref: C2346523

Students will explore a range of fiction writing exercises and activities. You will be encouraged to let your imaginations loose as we explore topics such as inspiration, POV, showing and telling, dialogue, narrative styles, editing and critiquing. Working to individual levels and interests, we will look at creating characters, developing plot and using different settings and styles to tell your stories. There will be a mix between creative writing exercises encouraging you to develop your own writing style, and workshops, where you will be supported to share and constructively critique writing produced by others. You will be encouraged to form a supportive writing group to help others develop their writing alongside your own. Methods of providing (and receiving) positive and supportive feedback will be discussed. Giving opinions on your peers' writing and receiving theirs on your own will encourage you to develop the clarity, quality and style of your writing.

Course aim

Improve your creative writing and critical skills. Enjoy sharing and discussing each others' work. Explore fiction writing exercises and techniques. Everyone will be encouraged to share their writing but nobody will be expected to do so until ready
