Here is your opportunity to learn few tips and tricks to creatively recycle your old clothes or simply alter them to give you a new look and size of your choice. We don’t promise to provide materials and haberdashery so please collect what you before the start of the course. For example you need to collect some old jeans, mens shirt, scarves or thin material if possible. Come along and share your interests and ideas with friendly people in a fun and relaxed atmosphere

Course aim

The aim of this course is to create some thing different from recycling clothes and will be positive towards your health, well being and community engagement

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Understand the principles and methods of cutting and stitching
  • Demonstrate hand and machine sewing skills
  • Show how to measure and make simple alteration to the garment
  • Evaluate your own work and that of others in the group
  • Achieve personal outcome ( optional)

Sewing machines and sewing equipment will be provided but we encourage students to bring their own basic sewing kit

  • You are paying the standard fee (with a credit or debit card) or you are on any of the qualifying benefits
  • You have a valid email address so that you can receive confirmation of your booking
  • You have been resident in the UK, EU or EEA for the last 3 years
  • You are aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2021
  • You declare that the address you provide is correct and that you will provide evidence of this and your eligibility to live and work in the UK
