Women Scientists You Probably Don't Know About

Ref: C2228701

For centuries Science was the domain almost exclusively of men. However, throughout the same time there have been women who have demonstrated expertise and achievements in Science and Technology. We will discover some of these extraordinary women. You may wish to research a scientist to share with the group.

Course aim

This course aims to introduce participants to the changes that have occurred in the field of Science over the past century in terms of the participation and acknowledgement of women's contributions.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • identify a number of women scientists with whom I was not previously familiar
  • reflect on the changes that have enabled more women to succeed in Science and Technology
  • understand why only a few women made history in Science in previous generations
  • appreciate the contributions that women have made in the fields of Science and Technology

How will I be taught?

What kind of feedback can I expect?

What else do I need to know?

You may wish to research or think about a woman scientist whom you admire to share with the group if numbers permit.
