Building the City 3, The Port. 7. Entertainment, from the Street to the Theatre.

Course aim

This course aims to provide an introduction to the creation of Georgian London and the lives of those who lived and worked there.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • 1. Identify why London grew during the period
  • 2. Recognise the main architectural styles used.
  • 3. Outline how Georgian developers worked.
  • 4. Describe how London responded to poverty and crime.
  • 5. Recognise the problems Georgian Londoners had in finding safe things to eat and drink.
