What else do I need to know? Is there anything I need to provide?
Wear comfortable clothes or exercise clothes. Ballet shoes will be ideal or bare feet but no socks please. For health and safety reasons you must have your camera on at all times during class. Make sure you have enough space around you. Have a dinning room type chair available to use when necessary.
Course aim:
To promote ballet as a fun and fitness activity.
Course description:
Enjoy learning to dance ballet to a variety of music with the benefit of improving overall fitness. This course is intended to all levels of experience who would love to learn ballet in a friendly and supportive environment. Improve your fitness, posture, balance and flexibility while dancing to music.
By the end of the course I will be able to:
1. Demonstrate improved overall fitness, stamina and musicality in completing the ballet class.
2. Demonstrate exercises at the barre to improve core strength, balance and flexibility.
3. Perform a short ballet sequence incorporating steps learnt in class.
4. Recognise steps and movements by their names.
5. Learn a simplified sequence from a well known ballet.
How will I learn?

We expect you to attend your classroom sessions and make time to do any required learning activities on your own.

The WEA tutor will use a range of teaching and learning activities and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning. Your tutor will use tasks to see how you are learning, which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects, discussion, written or practical work. Your tutor will give you feedback on your learning and progress.

This includes using Canvas to think about and record your progress and to give your tutor and the WEA feedback on your course.
