Course aim:
On this course you will be making a small sample of negative space embroidery. We will be exploring what negative space embroidery means and how to make a small design.
Course description:
During this course we will be exploring negative space embroidery and exactly what it means. This is a really fun and exploratory course where student with an improvers experience of embroidery can use stitching in a creative way. Over the six sessions we will be using a word and the embroidery will take place around the edge of the word leaving an empty (negative) space or outline of embroidery around the word.
By the end of the course I will be able to:
1. An understanding of what negative space embroidery is.
2. A small embroidery sampler with a negative space embroidery design on it.
3. An understanding of using traditional crafts in new ways.
How will I learn?

We expect you to attend your classroom sessions and make time to do any required learning activities on your own.

The WEA tutor will use a range of teaching and learning activities and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning. Your tutor will use tasks to see how you are learning, which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects, discussion, written or practical work. Your tutor will give you feedback on your learning and progress.
